Oma
Well, it has been rather a busy week. It was one week ago today that my Mom, aka OMA (german for grandma) fell and broke her arm. The children and I have been loving on her, and making her meals, and spending time with her this week at her house. It has been such a wonderful blessing. We have gotten some of our lessons done, but much of our learning has been from Oma. (here is a photo of Ben and Oma pre-fall)
Does your family have a captivating storyteller, our's is Oma. She can tell a story so well, you are practically on the edge of your seat! The children ask to hear some stories over and over. I am so thankful to God to be able to home educate them ! If they were away at school, they would not have the opportunity to know her as they do, to spend this time with her, and hear these stories over and over. Oh, and how helpful they have been. What an important thing it is to care for others, and to learn to serve others, who really cannot alway help themselves.
Really I think they vaccumed Oma's house 5 times each day. She has a vaccume that they are most impressed with, and felt the need to vaccume each time Ben left crumbs. Ben was most obliging, and ate and crumbed away, the countless cookies Oma allowed him to have. (have I mentioned Oma is german for grandma? Cookies are endless at Oma's) Today Oma is having surgery on her foot, yes her toe actually, poor Oma has many many boo boo's, and we love her very very much. May our Lord Jesus heal her and draw her to Himself!
