making your own adventures...

There are adventures to be had, nearly any day of the week,

anywhere you live, or visit... ripe for the picking...

and the week leading up to our eviction was no exception...

We were exhausted from packing, and I was ill from a blight of stomach ICK, l

ill, like I have never had before...

So to bring some joy, excitement and LIFE to our family,

I chose to NOT eat at all, pack some waters,

and HIT the city once again with my blessings, to see some sights, not yet seen by us...

next to a small tower we found this memorial...

We simply walked from Vieux Lyon to Bellecour and hit the south east corner

just north of the Poste, and found the park we have been spying for a few weeks ...

and decided THIS was JUST the exploration needed !

Too bad we can't read all that has been written on these memorial pillars...

note to self, keep learning French, so NEXT time, reading these will be a breeze :)

Frankly we were thrilled for the slightly cooler weather,

as my flu is OUT of control, and the whole mess with whether we are staying a few more weeks or leaving;

the confusion about housing, is overwhelming....

and exhausting... and I am a wreck...

but finding this beautiful reprieve...

GRASS in a very concrete city, is a thrill!

Don't the kids just look thrilled to have found it?

For a people that LOVE petite things,

and trying not to be anything but fun..

because this is such a blessing!

I didn't want to just miss the last few days...

to let them slip by us because I feel a wreck...

i KNOW I will collapse later, but a little walk...

wow, what a lovely building!

I really do admire the French architecture..

Why don't we build beautiful things like that anymore

they look so powerful

so mighty, majestic

and ... frankly important...

really creative and interesting...

a tribute to man's creative ability

amazing ingenuity,

and fortitude..

all divinely inspired...

Praise God!

What is this?

Public swimming pools & fancy towers?

Right there along side the Rhone river you've got some (meaning more than one)

Olympic sized swimming pool...

fantastic!

wondering HOW to get MOM to let them swim in there....

thinking hard... homeless along the river...

yes this is common

not unusual at all....

but NO problem,

we are seasoned vets now..

we shall take the photo by the cool coat of arms anyways!

Walking on the boardwalk next to the Rhone river... is so much fun!

Love this walk way along the Rhone... seeing the bicycle riders,

makes ME want to ride,

too bad we don't have our carrier for Buddy

so I could pull him around on a rental...

that would be so fun!Caspian is getting so big...

in just a few short weeks really he will be a teen...

I love the fact that the French make such a point to honor

their history

their many historical figures...

it is wonderful...

sunshine in a package!

Walking through the streets you can NOT help but have your eyes drawn upward..

noticing how each building is simply apart of the next

yet utterly different,

and the eye is drawn up up up

to the sky

and the heavens are simply lovely today!

Back in Vieux Lyon

the kids found THIS little spot

and crawled on in for this fun shot...

Time for tea

and a nap for me...

What a nice adventure!

short but sweet...

and we saw things we have never seen!

and then I think

of all the things I have never seen back home...

traveling can really open ones eyes to adventures in one's own backyard...
