have YOU arrived?

often times Christianity is described to me
as this AMAZING High...
and if I don't seem to be ON that HIGH
than there IS apparantly ...
something wrong with me.

other times
Christianity is described as a LOCATION
a serene
"ZEN" like location
where all walk about in utter bliss and joy
with out a care or struggle in the world..
People wonder,
making ME wonder if I have "arrived"???
and IF for what ever reason
MY life shows
even a ripple of struggle
a moment of strife
a trial
a difficulty that breaks their peace
than there is
most certainly...
something wrong we me.

To some that I have met...
Christianity is a day at the beach.
ALL fun in the sun
all just many sunny days
stung together
for them to play
and if for what ever reason
they see a bit of rain near me
a storm brewing...
I become eeyore
and
it becomes ...
yes... you guessed it...
something wrong with me..
you see...
they forget their bible
forget the sovereignty of God
that HE has made my day
and theirs.

While they were flying high
I was face down
humbled
and found this nugget...
and learned something wonderful
and stored a treasure of my own away in my heart

while those folks were having a blast at the beach,
The Lord and i were off on an adventure of our own...
and it was EVER the adventure!
Life really is...
Just as this sign says
we don't know what tomorrow will bring..
and our "christianity"
is NOT a location
not a party
not a day at the beach
but our Lord may take us to any one of those places...
the KEY is to not get stagnet in any of them..
To not ever expect it to STAY that way...
because
storms can come to that day at the beach...
frightening storms

Jesus said the road with Him would be straight and narrow...
not some huge highway..
what sort of road are you walking on?
Is it peaceful
or really popular?
Is it calm you, or does it stress you out because of the level of competition on it.
There is no need to compete with one another on this walk.
Because to some, it IS about comparing,
about who is MORE holy,
more "right"...
We are not to look at one another
and judge
or
compare
but rather

we are just fixing our eyes on Jesus
on our KING
on the Cross...
Just walking with HIM
where EVER that might lead us
willing to do what EVER He might call us to go
 sometimes the walk is slow
because we are SLOW
and HE is patient with us
Sometimes... the walk is hard
or lonely
or scary
sometimes we go through desert places
sometimes through forests so dense we can not see
sometimes we climb mountains
so high, we can barely BREATH..
but we press on,
by faith..
for we really can NOT see much beyone our own hands
truth be told
 we haven't  arrived
YET
& know that we won't.
not
till we cross over Jordan
&go home to Heaven
 so when we HAVE "arrived"
we certainly won't be here
 to blog about it..
so
till then...
we are trying to capture the moments...
