World View Weekend!
What a great time! Such informative, God loving speakers. The line up was TERRIFIC!
David Barton of Wallbuilders. www.wallbuilders.com This man is wonderful, soft spoken, but he hits it home like NO tomorrow.... He knows his history better than I do, and really knows his science, enough to have been invited to speak before a congressional committee (or was it Senate?) about global warming...
David Nobel of Summit Ministries! GET HIS BOOK Knowing the Times. My dear sister in Christ Cathy bought me one and gave it to me at the conference! Can you believe how wonderful she is to me? :) Thank you Cathy!
Jason Carlson was so interesting, he spoke of his experience in the Emergent Church and what that is, who it is, and what that movement is all about... he also spoke about pagan practices being welcomed into the Western Church today, and that we should know it, and speak against it... He is a powerful speaker and I learned alot...
Todd Freil was a big suprise to me. I expected him to be all silly and have so so theology... But this man of God, was right on! He is a passionate, and yes at times humorous speaker, who Loves Jesus and really has his head on straight. I was pleasantly suprised!
Brannon Howse... as always was a delight!
The thing about these weekends is it gets you fired up.... Makes you think, and as Ravi Z says, thinking hurts, it's a muscle we don't use very much... WE really are reactionary people, we don't think about things, and when we think that we are thinking, we are often just mulling, not really thinking all the way through... Not asking logical questions, and figuring out the answers, using logic... too often we are simply emotional to the point of NOT thinking the process out.... We say we think the media is full of it, liars and slanderers, blasphemers, and manipulating... but we believe their news none the less......
Well, this weekend was powerful to us, God has used these men mightily in our home... This year we took our oldest Cole, with us, and we went with Uncle Rick and Aunt Alicia.... It was great. Cole was strongly impacted by this weekend!
