Mother's Day...2006

Happy Mothers Day !

Motherhood is such a glorious gift from our God.
Motherhood, is wet kisses, gripping hugs, grass stains.
It is sweet smelling babies, as well as dirty diapers.
It's prayers laid before an Awesome Savior,
and prayers and more prayers...
and hearing a child's cry and holding them through it.
It's schedules, and chores.
It's singing silly songs, even if you sing like a frog.
It's stories read snuggled on the couch.
It's hot cocoa after a snowball fight, or fort building.
It's sleepless nights, and naps too!
Its having a refrigerator Packed with pictures,
and stepping on legos in middle of the night.
It's having bandaids ready when a blessing falls off their bike,
It's filled with bouquets of dandelions, or neighbors flowers...
It's calling children out of trees climbed,
and having your heart broken over and over...
Motherhood is pb&j, crockpot meals, and ice cream, just because...
Motherhood is always having enough popsicles for any and all the kids who come to play.
Motherhood is broth and tea when the kids are sick,
and being sick when the kids regain all their strength.
Motherhood is multiplication, or wishing you could multiply your time
Motherhood is division, dividing up all the strawberries or m&m's EXACTLY
Motherhood is adding, always and forever adding (especially to the pile of laundry...)
Motherhood is subtraction, take away take away take away
Motherhood is Math
Yet it is a language of such love, books could never contain it.
Motherhood is an Art, ketchup designs, crayons on the wall.
It's science, slowly studying the changes in them, in each season...
But best of all, after wet kisses, intense bear hugs, notes with I love You on them,
better than stories on the couch,
better than dandelions
Is Motherhood in the Lord. Walking with Him,
with Jesus every day, leaning upon Him,
trusting in Him, reaching for Him, studying His word to know which way to turn,
crying out to a HOLY and righteous God knowing He loves me, died for me, and will be there for me.
Mother hood in Christ is knowing how to forgive, and begging for forgiveness. It's wonderful and awful, fun and yet heartwrenching, it's moments of a heart swelling in love, and yet moments of heart break and or ache. Mother hood in Jesus is the most humbling thing I know.
Knowing my Savior, pursuing Him, and watching how He works the "every day" in such amazing ways as to teach me more and more about Him. It is seeing my self being sanctified by an Almighty and infinite Creator God. It's being an "instrument in my Redeemers Hands" Motherhood is a Gift from God! I praise Him for this amazing place, the amazing things He is doing in me and other woman that I know and love, all in the medium of motherhood.
"Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." Proverb 4:23
"For of Him, and through Him, and to Him, are all things; to whom be glory for ever. A-men" Romans 11:26
"you can make many plans, but the Lord's purpose will prevail." Proverbs 19:21
Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
Praise God for motherhood,
however long for you it will be
however short it may seem,
thank Him, praise Him
for every baby conceived within you,
for each child, living here or with the Lord,
For God IS Good, always and forever.
Hebrews 13:8 says
Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever
Isn't that wonderful?
Motherhood is a gift from God.
