Our first Sabbath in Lyon

Yesterday was Sunday. Sunday is a day that we spend worshipping the Lord, and resting... we try to anyway.. We try to do things that are, well, restful... Yesterday we different from most Sundays, as it was the first one we had in France. And being rather jet lagged, and fairly unaware of our surroundings, we did not go to any church service to worship the Lord... We did however go to a church! We did do things that were restful, and DID have a worshipful day!

Here is a photo of the Basillica Notre Dame in Lyon... It is at the very top of the hill/mountain we live on... It was beautiful, and suprise suprise... there were LOTS of people... NONE there to worship, as I don't even know if this beautiful structure houses a body of believers... Everyone there was taking photos or enjoying the surrounding park, the view and the lovely day.... What a grand church it might have one day been... soo beautiful............ Here are Princess KI and Caspian standing in the Roman Ruins ... one of the two surviving ampitheaters... Built in 15 BC (i do believe...) Lyon was founded under a different name in 45

BC (I think it was 45 perhaps 55, I will double check later) The point rather is... Are not those children simply darling????????????? Here is Rob with Buddy standing on a REAL Roman Road!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are the Three Musketeers standing a top our flight of stairs ... does this give you an idea of what sort of hike we have? Not to mention the view! Whew! Both are breath taking, LITERALLY!

Bon Jour!!!!!!!! Are they not just lovely, sitting in the theater, waving to you and to me! :) We are just with in walking distance of this historic site, and had a grand time here on Sunday. What a blessing that the Lord has brought us here, as we are actually studying the Roman Empire in School! I am so amazed each year at how the Lord has moved in our home education. I am so thankful to be here in France supporting Rob in his work, and being blessed enough to endulge in the living History that IS life in Europe....... We could NEVER have planned this, ONLY a wonderful Creator God could have so masterfully designed this all! Aren't they just beautiful?

Here is the door to our Villa... It is rather a "door in the wall" and on the other side is a walkway .. which takes us through a bit of a garden to our terrace, and to our Villa! So enchanting!

"this is the day the Lord hath made, let us REJOICE and be glad in it!" .......amen!
