Things are heating up...

Friday was a hard day.... on top of the tv not working, the phone not working, the computer not working, the flu or whatever it was, picked up the pace. It was really a tough week. Thursday was skating lessons, but I had suspecions of lagging ailments. By friday the kids were just NOT right.

So with fun AIG movies, and some Redbox kid rentals, I tucked them all into bed, and let them sleep and watch videos. For by this time mama had a fever too. We all hunkered down to ride this out. Fevers topping 102.7 by about 2pm. I took a nap and when Rob came home from work about 6pm, KI spiked a fever of 105.9.

so a call to my sister in law aka Nurse Maggie, and to our dr. back home, and we gave her some tylenol, and wrapped up little ones, and went to our local hospital, for our second visit in 2 weeks. they did blood tests, put an iv in her to hydrate her, took a urine sample (because of her previous issues with this, I insisted, even though she had no symptoms). Her symptoms included photophobia, bad headache, sore throat,and nasty cough.... The temperature dropped to 103, than to 102, than finally to 99.8. We waited for results, and it began to climb. Up up up....more medicine, this time motrin.
The initial results were a possible mild UTI, and the blood looked ok. Strep came back negative...They took blood for culture, and sent the urine in to be cultured as well. Sent us home with a rising temperature, some antibiotics and clear instructions on how to manage her fever should it climb to such dangerous heights again.

The staff was wonderful, helpful and very informative. KI had a blast learning all about what the nurse was doing. She watched while they did the IV and while they took blood. She was in her little heaven. though I think she'd enjoy being on the other side of the needle insertion :) And only enjoyed things while the fever was low.

Saturday was started with a fever of 105.8, and rubbing her down with warm washcloths while waiting for the medicine to work. Once it was down, I went up and down up and down to bring breakfast up for the children. When it was all said and done, buddy woke up and threw up on himself and anything in hisrange. :) So off to scrub up buddy, and get everything clean, laundry here we come. It was a crazy Saturday morning with Rob at work. But the Lord saw us through it, and we have come out on Sunday rested and still battling fever. Kiah was low, at just o smidge over 100, but Buddy up to 103. Between airing things out and making homemade soups and doing laundry, we are doing the best we can, Praising the Lord for His wonderful provisions.

So to boot, our computer is sick too, and I am borrowing Robs work computer to blog this. We think we might take it to the Geek Squad. Maybe the Computer Doctors can do more wonders than I did attempting to resisitate it for 4 hours on friday morning. :)

We ask for your prayers ... that we would endure this trial with grace and love, and that complete healing would come to our little rooms here at Embassy. :) also that Robs project would go smoothly so we might be home sooner rather than later.

Will post as we can.... updating our health and status. :) We should know the results of KI's blood and urine culture some time later today.
