So all has been quiet on the blog for a wee bit. So sorry for that lapse of time.
First we had the very exciting weekend away, just Rob and I! Woo hoo, we went to a homeschool conference. :) It was delightful. We enjoyed listening to the teachings of Norm Wakefield of the Spirit of Elijah Ministries very much, as well as Jeff Meyer of Meyer Institute. These two speakers were filled with vision and insight, that truly blessed us. While they both spoke on different topics you could really sense the continuity of the Lords Word being taught through both men.
There were many other speakers, none worth mentioning. The vision of the ICHE seemed a bit lacking this year. And with the disappointing news that they are to hold the next State Convention over the HOLIDAY weekend next year rather than the week before (as has been done), we walked away rather disappointed with the whole thing. It's a holiday weekend, to plan a convention on a weekend known for family gatherings is well, thoughtless.
Enough said on that, we will dwell on that which is lovely, and Norm and Jeff were a delight to learn from ! Bravo!
coming home off of that weekend spiraled for the Cornforth clan a week of rushing about.
Much preparing was to be done last week for Memorial Weekend. We take a few extra days and travel to a lake way way up North in a town called Hazelhurst in Wisconsin. The resort is lovely, it's called Blacks Cliff Resort. Jenny and Troy run the place and the cabins are very nice. We stay in a 4 bedroom, it has a nice kitchen and living area and 1 and 1/2 bath. The screened in porches are lovely. My Dad and his brother and sister and all of each of their clan try to head up there 2x a year. We've been doing it for years, and started to go to Blacks about when Cole was born. Gosh when we all started Cole had just been born, he was the only baby in the new generation, now there are 13 grandchildren amongst the three eldest siblings. Only 10 were there due to My cousin Sandy living in Germany now. It's not like she can just fly over with three wee ones and a hubby to boot. :) She is always sorely missed when she isn't there however.
Ben had a delightful time, Cole tried waterskiing again, Kiah, well was Kiah! There was biking, swimming, kayaking, rowing, paddleboats, fishing, playing in the park, too much fun to recount. Maybe later I will get some pictures on the blog to show you.
Now, I am sick with something, the house is piled with laundry, things need to be unpacked and I have no food to speak of. Yes, I have food, in the freezer.....
Praise God, for His word promises that He will never leave me nor forsake me. Yeah! Oh may I cling to that promise. May the Great physician heal me, and make me well again, and my my wee people and darling husband not become ill.

I appreciate what you said about "thinking about what is good." It's sooooo easy to dwell on the negative and to critisize, but that's not in God's plan for us. Thanks for the reminder. Feel better asap!!

isn't it interresting how we dwell upon things? It is so easy, so natural for me to dwell upon issues or emotions or events. All to often when I stop to think, I realize that what I am dwelling upon is ugly, or sinful. I suppose it is no wonder at all that God's Word in Phillipians 4:8(amongst other places) specificaly states
"Finally, bretheren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things."
God knows us so well, knows how we dwell, and where we let our minds dwell, so that He in His loving and instructive hopeful way, chose to teach us how to dwell, instructed us how...Is God not Wonderful Counselor? Praise His Holy Name!
