eager to share in our delights...
soon...
not yet...
eager
to tell you of our great expectations,
our prayers answered..
but for now..
I can not dearest readers
beloved friends..
For now I will share a darling story of Easter morning..
the abridged version....
here GOES :)
after the "egg hunt" little children needed showers and baths as age dictates...
and thus the house and baths were ALL the bustle...
someone got stressed out..
someone got hurt feelings...
someone had an all and all melt down..
no
it was NOT me :)
(ha ha to you who thought it was..)
and so,
mama had to snuggle and calm down said little soul,
hug and kiss, and
generally help darling blessing come to a place of peace once more..
such things take time..
such things STRESS OUT other blessings...
for guilt set in..
"did I cause this???"
"have I ruined Easter???"
"can I be forgiven?"
such wandering worries in the minds of blessings while dealing with a meltdown are difficult on a mama.. and so .. I gently shoo'ed the darlings OUT of my room, and worked on the calming ... when that was accomplished I had my wonderful husband welcome the blessings BACK in the love nest, and we had a family snuggle time on the GRAND King sized bed (gee I love that new bed! fits us all!) we smoothed out all the concerns...
"no.. you did not cause this....no... Easter IS not ruined, and can NOT BE ruined :) and forgiven? that is what Easter IS all about.. Forgiveness.. YES you are forgiven :) Easter is not about egg hunts, not about candy, not about pretty pastels, and fancy dresses... not about new hats, or baskets.. it is about Jesus ! His rising from the tomb, about the forgiveness of our sins, and the promise that WE too can rise with HIM one day to heaven, enjoying Kingdom to COME... forever... if we believe... " we talked and talked, remembering Good Friday, the cross, and the stamps we all had on our hands of "guilty" we received when visiting a local church...stamped upon our hands to remind us that Jesus had indeed paid the penalty for our sins, our mistakes our debts... everything.. That it was ALL forgiven.... all their worries were all taken care of at that cross. These were wonderful things to chat about snuggled up in bed, making for SUCH a great morning... such important questions asked, and answered...
but then it came...
"mama, papa? we ruined any chance of going to church.... look at the time..." and the sad, sad, worried little faces...
to which Rob and I looked at one another, and answered for them not to worry at all.. While we HAVE a home church, and we enjoy it very much. There ARE lot's of wonderful Christians in our community, that would be HAPPY to celebrate our Risen Lord with us.. and we would find a church to celebrate with that had a later service.
And...
we did.
and
it was grand.
The message was JUST what God ordained for us to hear.. Just "what the doctor ordered" if you will... Some time in middle of the sermon, with tears trickling down my face, the Princess grabbed my arm and snuggled tight, and I looked at her, and she at me.. All was well, all was fine... truly her heart was filled with joy, and I was so thankful..."I think we are EXACTLY where God wanted us to be today dear" I told her... and she smiled, and agreed with me, snuggling all the more..
When we climbed in the car, the boys were all a chatter at how the Pastor said this, or that, and how MUCH they loved Easter service.. how GLAD they were, we were JUST where we were for Easter...
and it was a wonderful reminder..
that our God reigns..
that our God is sovereign
that our God LOVES us
that our God is full of Grace
and we need to share that... with our children.. with each other...
because it's all too easy to forget..
while we certainly are not puppets
we can remember, that we are IN His hands, and we really can learn from every experience,
that nothing is the End of the world..
it can all be fixed..
and forgiven...
and if we just .. go with it.. and not stress about it...
if we look for that proverbial "silver lining" in our dark cloud..
If we don't fixate on what's wrong..
but look to what is right..
if we don't totally consentrate on what is broken,
but begin to pray for the solution
there is healing in not stressing...
in walking by faith and not by sight
and ... hope
we could of stayed home..
could have blamed one another
been grumpy
and missed a treasure..
but ... we calmly kept faith,
and let the Lord lead our day..
and we ...
were blessed abundantly..
and are still talking..
on tuesday ..
about HOW great IS OUR GOD :)
hope YOUR Easter was wonderful as well!
you are loved!
looking forward to sharing more about how God is blessing our hearts and home with you soon.....
