Ok so perhaps it MAY seem a bit silly to YOU that we take fieldtrips while on the GREAT field trip here in Lyon... but let me point out... that once you are anywhere more than 3-4 weeks you find it's rhythm... and if you live there more than 2 months you bridged past homesickness, and may make a friend or two.. you are LIVING in that place... and 3 months, it simply IS a home away from home... so... we took a field trip!
I brought school with, as many of you know, and one of our books that I brought was a book by David Macaulay called Cathedral. David is one of my absolute FAVORITES! If you have a detail kid, especially a boy, or even an inquisitive girl, really a CHILD who needs to KNOW HOW HOW HOW... well, David's books are for you! We read this one during this past week, and then went on the hunt to our local Cathedral, to find the treasures located inside the book... here are some of them...

The Church and the Well in front... See the three doors? The One in the center is biggest. Two narrow flanking, inside these are narrower columns described just like in David Macaulay's book. From the side you will see this is only possible because ....

Here are the remnants of the very first church of Lyon. The ruins are located directly next to the Cathedral.
Here is the Baptism thing, I don't know if it is a tank, or what, but it is from the first church. I think about 400 A.D.

Three Musketeers.....
What ever has my little adventurer found this time? I do not know! But I can tell you living books are the best, and letting them come alive, by following their lead is amazing. Yet none of this would be possible without our Lord. We could Never have come to France on our own, let alone come to live for 3 months... This is not by our plan... but by His. We are so thankful for all we are seeing, and learning. So excited to see the History of the Body laid so boldly before us...
