Reese Witherspoon & Vince Vaughn played in this comedic look at Christmas...
A young unmarried couple desperate to avoid "family" because of what "family" is to them...
Divorce
Disfunction
Rejection
Destruction...
Truly these two have made something of their lives, and come from some WACKY home lives..
It takes a fogged in SanFrancisco Christmas for them to be forced to actually meet one another's families..
This film takes you to the four corners of these grown up kids divorced families... and in the end, they see one another MORE fully because of it... see what they've been hiding, and what they've been missing... and have to face the awful fact... that LOVE, and LIFE can be messy.... and they have to search out answers to questions like... are they willing to LOVE freely, and be willing to be committed, and perhaps explore something LIKE marriage, and family life...and NOT be afraid...
funny....HOLLYWOOD actually seeing forcing ones self into perpetual singleness as a lack of freedom... hmmmm refreshing I'd say...
I enjoyed this movie...
Its not up there with the best...
I don't even know if it would be a yearly MUST see...
but it was cute,
and had some endearing moments...
and some out and out LAUGHS...
if you see it at Red Box or the Library and ...
ya got nothing to do,
grab the movie, some popcorn, & a pizza
and enjoy...
you'll be sure to crack a smile or two...
It is rated PG-13.. and I would agree with that...
there are some.... moments...
off to bed with me :)
Happy Viewing!
