o boot day

do you do boot day?
known through OUT most of the normal world
those persons living OUTSIDE my house
as ST Nicholas' day?
It was this week...
Tradition has it, you put a boot outside your door
or .. yes.. a stocking!
and in the morning...
tadah!!!!
it is filled with
oranges, tangerines, chocolates and yummies!
gross you say?
NOT at all..
but this year my boys discovered that their boots did not fit them...
Caspian @ 13 was fine with that.. he really rather likes chocolate, and figures
"ST Nick" won't care if he's wearing that pair of boots this year or not :)
Buddy on the other hand took some talking to... he was very very concerned..
Turned out.. YOU can use gym shoes too!  Who KNEW????????????

That said,
we were on the hunt this week
yes in the midst of a storm that covered 36 states!!!!
to find BOOTS
and after much hemming, and drama,
Boots were found!!!!!!
hurray!

Now funny how we needed new mittens and gloves,
the "winter box" had lots of them...
all mismatched... How ever does that happen?
mittens and gloves and boots bought!

now we can go out to play in that Winter wonderland!
good thing I have cocoa and marshmello's :)
