Well, she has been born under a curse...
(haven't we all)
and hers is one everyone can see....
it makes her ugly
(hmmm just like sin makes us all ugly)
but her mom will DO anything to try to break the curse...
subjecting poor Penelope to all sorts of horrid humiliations,
and sad situations...
leaving Penelope feeling utterly dejected and alone....
with no esteem....
hmmmm (great theme so far yes?)
What will break the curse?
True acceptance and love from "one of her own"...
so mother is on a Matchmaking expedition of serious proportions....
when all along...
Mother has misunderstood the words of the curse...
(sound familiar)
and it plays out quite differently indeed...
It plays out quite nicely!
and...
there is a place for just learning to BE ok with how you are...
even if you are a girl with a Pigs snout...
and there is romance... but the nice kind....
all in all...
a nice flick...
not a great film...
not a MUST see..
but a fun popcorn, cuddle under the blanket,
in the catagory of a modern day "hugh's ish" film...
very tame....
not very heavy....
quite cute, fluffy....
nothing spectacular ya know... but not bad :)
